Jockey Emphasizes Comfort

(Filed Under wholesale Basics News). Jockey is launching two new versatile sporty lines for the fall season featuring an emphasis on comfort rather than performance, said Lisa Konorty, director of accounts for Jacques Moret, an activewear licensee, on behalf of Jockey.

Inspired by nature and made from sueded cotton and spandex French terry, the Sueded French Terry designs are comprised of “flattering colors found in nature [that] are combined with colorful print details, natural fibers, etc.,” said Konorty. The designs include feminine and tailored details such as darts, pleats and rouching.

This range, which will be available in sizes small through XL, will begin shipping July 25th, to be exact, and will retail at a range of $32 to $38. Styles include three zippered tops with matching drawstring pants and two tank tops.

The second range is the Micro-Suede Jersey, with styles including four tanktops with a deep neck, matching drawstring pants and four sweaters featuring a scoop neck and side pockets. “Fabrics incorporate softness and stretch and are appropriate for a soothing mind/body fitness philosophy in a busy woman’s life,” said Konorty.

Also shipping beginning July 25th, the range is available in sizes small through XL and is set at a retail range of $32 to $36.

Milou Gwyn, vice president of domestic licensing at Jockey, outlines the ranges’ versatility as such: “Women love that our Jockey Sport collection gives them such versatility. Our design team is influenced strongly by streetwear, so there’s a real cross-over. She can wear a Jockey Sport outfit to the gym or yoga and feel dressed enough to meet a friend for coffee. She is as comfortable as if she’s wearing her favorite old sweats, but she looks put together and chic.”

This fall, customers can expect to see the two ranges at the company’s website, Fred Meyer and Dillard’s.
