Survey: Leg Avenue Listening To Retailers


(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). “This is certainly not just a women’s issue,” began Lisa Griffin of Leg Avenue. “People in general are getting bigger in the US and manufacturers and retailers alike are finally understanding that this is not a passing phase. Curvier women want to feel sexy too and lingerie sizing has increased in response to demand.”

“While we’ve always carried a selection of plus sized lingerie styles, It’s only been in the last two years that we’ve dedicated exclusive styles to our curvier sisters that are shot on actual plus size women. Not only is [the] plus size portion of our business extremely important, it’s equally important that it’s done correctly with the priority being on fit and quality.”

To address the new opportunites, “Our plus size lingerie catalog debuted early 2012 to rave reviews, with the 2013 catalog premiering at Curve this past February. The 2013 collection [has] doubled the plus size styles available and really balanced out the line with an amazing selection of lingerie designed just for this catalog.”

“We are proud that our plus size collection features images of real curvy girls that are so sexy and confident with the way they look,” the executive noted. “We have increased the use of our plus size lingerie images in our ads and will continue to promote the collection with our amazing and confident models.”

There is a strong future for plus at Leg Avenue. "Due the success of the collection, we will continue to grow the line for 2014,” Griffin continued. “Retailer feedback is the whole reason we expanded the line initially and the ongoing retailer demand continues to challenge us to create more innovative and sexy styles for the line. Retailers understand the potential in offering an extended size range and are answering consumer demand by creating a plus size section in their stores.”

“Leg Avenue is fortunate enough to have an eclectic group of individuals in our creative department, of all shapes and sizes, who are able to offer input into sizing and styles that would work best for the curvier woman,” she concluded.
