(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Galleria Intima, which describes itself as “India’s only sourcing fair for intimate apparel professionals,” will return for its second annual event in August (at the Grand Hyatt in Goa on the 23rd and 24th). And Invista and Lenzing will again be among the expanded list of exhibitors.
According to the Intimate Apparel Association of India (IAAI ), which sponsors the event, “it is set to be almost three times larger this time around with participation from more than 12 countries across the globe. The wide scope of the event encompasses lingerie, beachwear, swimwear, loungewear, nightwear and shapewear and even extends to hosiery and knitted products like socks and stockings.”
Exhibiting will be producers of “fibers, fabrics, laces, embroideries, accessories, machineries, automated technology and packaging materials,” according to an association statement. “Adding to the trade atmosphere are the technology and software solution providers of CAD, PLM, sustainable technology, production, monitoring and forecasting. The event will also be introducing OEM and private label manufacturers to the industry.”
The IAAI was formed in 2010 to “promote, advance, expand, and develop Indian intimate apparel industry such that it may soon be a force to reckon with not only in the Indian markets, but also globally. As the intimate apparel industry is the fastest growing segment of the apparel industry in India, the Association acts as a steering force in the intimate apparel business that guides it into a more illustrious and distinguished future.”
A press release about the event noted that Invista, at last year’s event, worked with “key customers such as PS Fashions and Abhay Group” and quoted an unnamed Invista spokesperson, “After a fruitful experience last year, we are looking forward to participating at Galleria Intima again this year. It is a great platform for all stakeholders within the industry including mills, brands, retailers and designers to come together and share industry insights and new ideas.”
