(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). After an overwhelming response to its August 2012 launch, history repeated itself at the second annual Galleria Intima, India’s largest sourcing fair for intimate apparel professionals, which was held Aug. 23-24 at the Grand Hyatt Goa.
Galleria Intima attracted 1,200 attendees, 850 of which were intimate apparel manufacturers. Exhibitors came from all over the world, including the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and the United States. Visitors attended seminars focused on the growth of the industry and met with prominent figures and dignitaries, according to the Intimate Apparel Association of India, the sponsor of the event.
“IAAI has once again proved its commitment toward the industry’s growth,” IAAI CEO Yusuf Dohadwala said in a statement. “Galleria Intima has pushed many boundaries in its second round and has given the industry new scope. Over 4 billion rupees’ worth of business was transacted over these two days.”
The IAAI was formed in 2010 to promote, advance, expand and develop the Indian apparel industry and formed Galleria Intima to bring together “some of the greatest minds of the industry in connection with some of the most valuable expertise of our international visitors,” according to IAAI President Rakesh Grover.
