(Filed Under Textiles News). Leading European fiber producer Dorix GmbH, acquired by RadiciGroup in 2011, is now operating under the name Radici Chemiefaser GmbH.
The name change is a result of RadiciGroup’s reorganization of its Germany operations, its headquarters for synthetic fiber, plastic and chemical production. RadiciGroup scooped up Dorix two years ago to boost its presence in the international synthetic fibers and textiles market and offer customers greater production flexibility and more custom color, denier and tex options.
The company is also premiering a Dorix-branded staple fiber crafted with materials originating at RadiciGroup’s chemical division, Radici Chimica SpA. Dorix PA6.10 is ethically and noncompetitively crafted using Radici-produced hexamethylenediamine as well as sebacic acid extracted from the seeds of Asian castor oil plants.
RadiciGroup is an Italy-based global fibers conglomerate with production plants and offices across the world and annual sales of over $1.5 billion. The Radici Chemiefaser unit notches annual sales of nearly $20 million.
