(formerly known as Limited Brands), parent to Victoria’s Secret, reported an increase in sales for the five weeks ended October 5, 2013 when compared to a similar period last year. Comparable store sales for this September vs. last September increased 1% at Victoria’s Secret stores, 2% at Victoria’s Secret direct and 3% at La Senza, the firm’s Canadian lingerie store chain.
Overall, L reported “net sales of $786.0 million for the five weeks ended Oct. 5, 2013, compared to net sales of $773.6 million for the five weeks ended Sept. 29, 2012,” as well as “net sales of $6.275 billion for the 35 weeks ended Oct. 5, 2013, an increase of 5 percent compared to sales of $5.992 billion for the 35 weeks ended Sept. 29, 2012.” For all of its stores, which include Bath & Body Works and Henri Bendel, “The company reported a comparable store sales increase of 2 percent for the 35 weeks ended Oct. 5, 2013, compared to the 35 weeks ended Oct. 6, 2012.”
