(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). For her first collection, New York City-based designer Stephanie Chen drew from 1920s-inspired elegance and sophistication to create Sapphire Bliss, a luxury brand designed for confident, independent women.
Chen immigrated to New York as a child, and her curiosity about fashion piqued when her parents landed work in the city’s Garment District. She went on to graduate from the lauded Parsons School of Design and work for several contemporary fashion companies, including Polo Ralph Lauren, but was drawn to creating her own line of comfortable, elegant lingerie with a distinctly vintage appeal.
Sapphire Bliss’ debut collection features antiqued silk and opulent lace in sheer nude and champagne colorways as well as lush black and rich navy. Silhouettes include the Marilyn babydoll, an ultrafeminine silk design enhanced with eyelash lace and sexy open sides. The sheer Sophia whisper kaftan features an asymmetrical scallop-edged hem, evoking a Greek goddess, while the lace Kate hoodie robe’s Gatsby-inspired styling has the appeal of a period piece while still remaining strikingly modern.
Sapphire Bliss designs come in sizes XS to L and retail from $188 to $368. The styles currently retail through the brand’s website at SapphireBliss.com.
