(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Olivier de Croizant “is now Barbara managing director” according to one source within the company and confirmed by others. He replaces Hubert Lafont who left the company earlier this month (as reported in BODY) after many years in the same position.
De Croizant had most recently been sales manager at Aubade (the French lingerie firm which was purchased some years ago by Calida), and had worked at that firm in different positions for six years.
Barbara has faced difficulties in recent years, going through two separate rounds of re-financing and ownership change. In June, 2010 Barbara was acquired by Korean lingerie maker Namyeung Vivien, which injected substantial cash into the business. More recently the brand was re-introduced into the U.S. market after an absence of some years under the direction of CMK Distinctive Brands, the distribution and consulting firm headed by Cindy Kelly.
