(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). After two successful years with overwhelming turnouts, Galleria Intima, the largest intimate apparel sourcing fair in India, has planned its third event for Aug. 18-19, 2014, at the Grand Hyatt in Goa.
The Intimate Apparel Association of India, the event’s sponsor, is expecting more than 600 brands to visit the show this year, nearly doubling last year’s numbers. More than 75 exhibitors will be available at the event’s 20,000 square feet of space, and the IAAI is anticipating 4 billion rupees ($66 million) worth of business transactions to take place.
Previous and expected visitors for the event include fibers, fabrics, accessories and trimmings manufacturers; machinery, packaging and automated technology manufacturers; technology and software solution providers; independent intimate apparel professionals; and brand owners and senior management in the lingerie, swimwear, beachwear, sleepwear, shapewear and hosiery industries.
In addition to exhibits, there will be panel discussions and seminars, as well as networking events, all encompassing the latest trends and relevant industry topics.
“For the last two years, the IAAI has left no stone unturned in raising awareness amongst both intimate apparel suppliers as well as brands about the significance of this platform, that can go a long way in bridging demand-supply gaps in the industry,” IAAI CEO Yusuf Dohadwala said in a statement. “The ultimate goal is to make this the most important annual event for not just the Indian intimate apparel industry but also all of Asia as a whole.”
