(Filed Under Fashion News). On the heels of Curve Las Vegas, CurveNY took place from February 22 to the 24th at the Jacob Javits Center.
According to show management, 1,937 retailers turned out to peruse 250 brands, a 25 percent increase from 2008’s installation. Attendees included buyers from major department stores including Barney’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, Macy’s and Saks, as well as several independent stores. The show was not immune to tough times however, with many department stores sending only a few buyers as opposed to larger delegations, and independent storeowners often attending alone.
The show’s main attraction was brands, including several first-timers. Brand-new Canadian company, La Fée Verte, presented a collection with striking color combinations. According to show management, other noteworthy collections included those of Rosabella, Jenna Leigh, Elise Aucouturier, Sally Poppy, Amore and Cervin, the only manufacturer of silk stockings to attend.
The next installation of CurveNY is schedule for August 2 to the 4th at the Javits Center.
