Leg Avenue Explains Online Retail Policies


(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Leg Avenue has re-designed its website, which includes the option for consumers to buy its products directly, but has taken steps to reassure its “valuable retailers” that is will not compete with them on price.

In announcing the redesigned web portal, the company stated “The prices listed on the site are three times our wholesale price and are intended to be the highest in the market. In fact, Legavenue.com will sell above our own established MSRP in ALL instances.”

At a time when many wholsalers are already selling direct to consumers, Leg Avenue emphasized “We have taken the utmost care in developing the e-commerce portion of the website as not to interfere or directly compete with existing retailers of our products, either online or at physical retail locations. We have developed and implemented some of the strictest retail pricing policies in the industry to guarantee adherence to MSRP and current Leg Avenue pricing standards.”

The company explained its strategy, noting “We are driving consumer demand and awareness. Legavenue.com was developed to be a valuable resource for our customers and retailers alike. For consumers, legavenue.com will become a great destination to inform, excite and showcase all Leg Avenue products. For retailers, the site will enable us to market new and special featured products directly to the consumer through multi-channel efforts to include e-newsletters, social media and traditional print advertising, increasing demand and consumer awareness for Leg Avenue branded products and drive those consumers to our retailer partners. As an additional benefit, the site will feature an address–based a store locator to drive consumers to our local retail partners.”

The announcement promised retailers “We will not run sales, special discounts or offers on any product that is in one of our current catalogs. Legavenue.com will also be a valuable tool for retailers to use in determining their own pricing and marketing strategies for Leg Avenue products. Should any pricing issues come to your attention we will be more than happy to address those concerns. This policy also provides an opportunity to not only to set a pricing standard among retailers, but also acts as a way to direct consumers to our retailer partners to seek out items found on the Leg Avenue site.”

Leg Avenue also promised, “We will provide additional selling tools to assist our retailer’s sales and marketing efforts. Beautiful hi-res photos and valuable cross-sell merchandising strategies and tools will be made available and Leg Avenue will provide approved retailers the creative resources and assistance needed to maximize in their marketing efforts and sales.”
