(Filed Under wholesale Hosiery News). Majesty Brands, the New York-based hosiery producer, has recently signed licensing agreements with Warner Brothers and Daisy Fuentes.
The Warner Brothers license includes the original film verions of The Wizard of Oz, Where the Wild Things Are, Beetlejuice, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Goodfellas and more.
“We know how to make sox, a nice product” and how to “fit our product for the retailer,” explained company owner Jack Safdeye. He added that he looks for brands that have “a wide space in the market” and then “develops something special for the retailer.”
Majesty produces a range of hosiery products including sox, tights, leggings, leg warmers, liners, boot liners “and all other categories of socks.” In addition to the latest licenses, the company sells under both company-owned and licensed brands that include ABS by Allen Schwartz, TKO, Bollydoll, Sam & Olivia and #sockswag.
Two brands targeted at men are Bond St. and Sock Swag. “Both are attacking a different segment of the market.”
Majesty does “a lot of private label and a lot of branded” product with the intention of “meaning everything to everybody.” On its website it lists a wide range retail partners including Nordstrom, Saks, Bloomingdales, Macy’s, JC Penney, Target, Costco, Dollar General, Ross, TJX, Spirit, Spencer’s and many more.
