The recent bankruptcy in Canada of a Halloween and costume retailer, Enterprise André Cloutier, Inc. and Party V.I.P., hit several North American costume and intimates wholesalers and distributors. They are included on a list of creditors filed with the Canadian government.
The retailer, which is based in Saint-Jerome, filed owing unsecured creditors a total of $1,214,850 in Canadian dollars. Among those creditors in the costume and party goods business, Rubie’s Costume Company topped the list at $141,440, followed by SKS Novelty, which was listed as being owed $133,804. Also on the list of creditors was Forum Novelties, owed $137,781; Amscan of Canada, $119,218; Leg Avenue, $52,905; Unique Party Favors, $36,480; Jack’s Pacific (which includes Disguise), $19,297; Jolar Speck (which is owed for Dreamgirl merchandise), $11,968; and Gertex Hosiery, $9,810.
