T.H.E. Expands Product Offering


(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). California-based T.H.E. Swimwear, a tight-knit family company founded in 1988, has recently expanded its separates program to include a new missy and women’s sized mastectomy category under its best-selling Topanga label.

Topanga separates include eight different silhouettes in tops as well as six silhouettes in bottoms. All styles are available at a range of sizes 8 through 20 in missy and 18W-32W in women’s.

The tops in the missy line, which are all equipped with a full bra in them, range from $16.50 to $17.50 and bottoms are set at a range of $12.25 to $14.25.

“We have a very quality product at a very valued price,’ said Michael Hartigan, owner of the company. “I think we have a product for real women.” Referring to a statistic that confirms approximately 50 percent of American women are a size 14 or larger, Hartigan explains many competing companies in the market don’t design with the “real woman” in mind. “A lot of companies use the word missy, but it’s not really missy to us, we’re the real thing.” Specifically, Hartigan explains T.H.E.’s cuts and silhouettes are more in line with what a missy-sized woman would want to wear.

T.H.E. Swimwear may even further expand its product offering for the 2010 season by producing more fashion forward pieces, said Hartigan. This would be a significant change for the company, which traditionally manufactures more conservative pieces.
