(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Shapeez is heading into the new year with several interesting new developments in the works, including plans for “Before and After” social media events designed to build consumer traffic for its stores.
Under this new program, Shapeez will help its retailers set up in-store events in which consumers would be invited to participate in photography (either still or video) sessions in which they are shot from the back, wearing their current bra and then wearing a Shapeez bra. The key to all the company’s bras is that they eliminate the look of bulges and back fat, while at the same time providing full bra support and slimming and shaping benefits. Conventional bras, on the other hand, cut into the back and emphasize ugly lumps.
Executives at Shapeez have already made extensive use of before and after shots of actual customers on its website. “We want to get our stores more engaged in the social media aspect of marketing,” explained co-owner and CFO David Berner. “This is an ideal way to do it. We have found that before-and-after photos are a great selling point for our bras, and shooting from the back maintains privacy for consumers while displaying many of the benefits of our bras. We have found many of our customers are happy to participate.”
“This program will get stores to engage with their consumers. Then we will put the event up on our site, as well as the retailer’s website, to provide maximum publicity and benefit for the store.”
“Some stores just don’t know how to promote themselves in the new age of online, and we want to take an active role in helping them.”
In other news, Shapeez will be exhibiting at the upcoming WWIN show at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas (February 20-23), which runs concurrently with MAGIC. As usual, the Shapeez booth will feature a changing area where buyers can actually try on one of the company’s patented bras. Designer and co-owner Staci Berner emphasizes (as we have noted in previous articles), “If we can get a store buyer or owner to try on one of our bras, we end up gaining a new customer!”
David Berner also hinted the company might have an interesting new product to show buyers who come to the booth, but he declined to say more.
In still other news, Shapeez (which produces its intimates in Canada and has an extensive retail network in that country and the U.S.), has established a new sales operation in the U.K. In announcing the launch, Staci Berner, addressed British women thusly: “I know first-hand how frustrating it is not being able to find a bra that both looks and feels great, and to feel your bra isn’t working for you. Shapeez are designed with all women in mind, whether you’re curvy, have a modest chest, are a new mother, have recently undergone surgery or dramatic weight loss, and everything in between. Shapeez offers a solution to many body hang-ups that women worry about and makes them feel great. We’re beyond excited to be bringing Shapeez to the UK”.
