Night & Gale Lingerie: Ready to Grow Its Base

(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Night & Gale Lingerie is a new collection with a gently compelling, feminine and detailed look that seems to be on the verge of expanding its wholesale customer base.

Launched in July 2015 by designer Thais Alarcon, the line is currently offered to consumers at her store. “It is the only place you can find my brand for now. I’m not selling to any retailers yet as I do all the hand sewing for the brand. I make sure every piece is custom made and fits every client well.” But, she continued, “At some point, I would love to expand the brand and make a line available for retailers around the world.”

“I sell handmade lingerie; specially bras, panties, garters, bodysuits and corsets. Most prices go from $40 up to $150, with some special exceptions such as custom orders or bridal wear,” Alarcon continued. “My main goal is to make sure the client feels completely happy and comfortable with their purchase. It’s not just about the final piece, but about the complete process. It starts with measurements, ideas, and even making custom changes for each one. I’m happy when the client is involved in the process of creating a piece that’s being created for her body. The fact that it is 100% handmade also makes it very special, as each piece is unique in its own way. “

“I think the concept my brand delivers is very important. I like when my clients identify with one piece from a collection and feel amazing in their own skin. I emphasize on making each one unique and with lots of hand sewn details. It is important to show that each set was made with care and with a purpose. The fact that I only make a small amount of each set makes it exclusive.”

The designer has a bachelor’s in fashion design, and launched her collection “right after I graduated. I have worked for couture ateliers before, in both design and hand sewing details, but never in the lingerie department. I’m a self learner, so I try to read as much as possible and learn from wherever I can about lingerie and this amazing world.”

Alarcon’s webstore currently displays about two dozen items, but she emphasized, “I’m in the process of launching a new collection really soon. It will be available in about a month, and will include (but not be limited to) bras and bralettes, panties, bodysuits, corsets, robes and pajamas. I’ll be expanding the line and adding a pima cotton line soon, as well.”

While some aspects of her business would obviously change with the potential expansion to wholesale, the designer seems anxious to grow. “Night & Gale Lingerie is just starting, having me doing everything is hectic but incredible. I am in the process of expanding the brand and creating lines for different publics, so that it reaches a bigger audience. Great things are coming real soon!”

At this point Night & Gales does not have “sales manager or distributor right now,” but Alarcon would “definitely be interested in one in the near future as I expand the brand and get help with the manufacture of the pieces. Any inquiries can be sent to”

Night & Gale is but one of a crowd of lingerie designers on Etsy, many apparently attracting growing attention from consumers. “I was amazed when I found out Etsy had a lot of traffic coming from outside the U.S. I’ve sold pieces to many customers abroad, in countries such as France, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, etc. It’s incredible to know people far away are aware of your product and like it.” — NM
