(Filed Under Fashion News). ENK International is searching for a new president after Luis Padilla left the trade show organizer about a month ago, a company executive said.
Padilla, a veteran of the retail industry, was named to the newly created position in May 2007 to drive ENK's growth strategy and to help chairman and founder Elyse Kroll with her leadership duties. His former jobs included president of Sears and major posts with the Target and Marshall Field's divisions of Target Corp.
Until a replacement is found, Kroll is taking over Padilla's day-to-day responsibilities, said chief financial officer Mike Greene. Greene said ENK did not formally announce Padilla's resignation.
Greene said he could not say why Padilla resigned, but said "it was not for a negative reason."
"The intent is to replace Luis at the time that the right individual is found," he said.
ENK, based in New York, organizes several major fashion trade shows in the city, including Coterie, Intermezzo Collections and Accessorie Circuit.
