(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). French lingerie company Ravage, a subsidiary of the brand Barbara, is reportedly shutting its doors.
Ravage reportedly was unable to find an acquirer following the recent announcement of the acquisition of Barbara S.A. by Huit Diffusion.
As a result of Huit’s acquisition, the newly-formed group, “[Barbara Lingerie] will remain independent from Huit in order to preserve its personality and specificity, but both companies will belong to the same holding company,” said Hubert Lafont, general manager of Barbara Lingerie. “Both companies are comparable in size, but they offer complementary products. Thus, they will generate industrial and commercial synergies and they keep very good perspectives of development in spite of the current economic condition.”
According to Lafont, Barbara will capitalize on the strength of Huit America in the U.S. market with distribution done through Huit America.
Executives at Ravage could not be reached at the time of press.
