(Filed Under Technology News). As of April 6th, QuestaWeb, Inc, a provider of web-based integrated global trade management (GTM) solutions, is the first vendor to obtain its certification on the Automated Broker Interface (ABI) for the U.S Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) new Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
The certification will allow the firm to transmit and receive data on imported merchandise through a direct electronic interface with CBP, translating into more timely, complete and accurate data, said the company.
Currently, only custom brokers and importers using QuestaWeb’s TradeMaster QW software will be able to benefit from the enhancements brought on by the new compliance system.
Enhancements include: “Better organized entry summary filing and response guides offer more descriptive information, which speeds up processing and eliminates delays. An innovative process to query and electronically override Census warnings virtually eliminates the need for the exchange of paper documentation. A new entry summary status notification messaging process keeps importers advised of CBP actions on an ongoing basis. Moreover, ACE permits two-way communication between the filer and CBP, allowing importers to automatically query key databases and files,” said the company.
