(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Victoria’s Secret’s recent addition of the independent French brand LIVY to its website as well and some of its key stores, has proved advantageous for the retailer in more ways than one.
Of the 28 LIVY styles introduced just before Valentine’s Day, 13 had been “sold out” on its website by mid April. And Victoria’s Secret promised more examples of the strappy, edgy, transparent and otherwise often revealing styles would be “coming soon.”
From time to time over the years, Victoria’s Secret has, for relatively short periods of time, offered interesting, usually high end, brands to its customers. Now, with so many companies in the market offering styles with a multitude of straps, transparent fabrics, cup less bras and back less panties, VS is competing in the category. And not only with LIVY.
Recently Victoria’s Secret began offering, with its own label and under the banner “Modern Lingerie,” its own corresponding styles. (https://www.victoriassecret.com/vs/panties/sexy-looks). The 32 pieces currentl shown on VS website range in price from panties selling for $15 (or three for $36) on up to $69.50 for the “VERY SEXY Chantilly Lace Cutout Teddy.”
The 28 pieces in the LIVY collection ranged in price from $55 for various briefs to $235 for the “Banded Monowire Bra.”
When it launched the collaboration with LIVY, VS noted that the brand “founded by Paris-based designer Lisa Chavy, has been dubbed the “new lingerie brand to know,” describing the offerings as an “array of bras, panties, lingerie, sleepwear and lifestyle pieces. High-end product details include graphic-back designs, tattoo-style appliqués, crisp laser-cut lines, bold hardware accents, luxe Calais lace, and thermo-fused technology creating a smooth and comfortable fabric finish.” — NM
