(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Monique Morin, an experienced lingerie designer, has created an eponymous collection that differentiates itself in several ways.
Launched in 2019, the bold and dramatic styles provide fashion along with quality construction and fit. The lingerie is designed to flatter a variety of different body types, while at the same time looking good from all angles (not just the front).
While hers might well be described as a luxury brand, Morin emphasizes its relative affordability. “I had boutique owners stop by my booth during the last Curve New York show saying they just wanted to take a peek, but thought the product was out of their price range.” Those retailers we pleased to learn that “Our luxury items are actually very affordable.” Wholesale prices for panties “currently range between $15 to $21USD; bralettes range between $20 and $25USD; bras range between $29 to $40USD.”
“One key differentiator that makes the brand stand out among others offering high fashion styles is the attention to flattering construction to enhance the body from all angles,” pointed out Morin. “I like to call it “360 degree flawless” lingerie. The sad reality on the current market is that retailers have to save on cost and they settle most of the time for a product that only looks good from the front. The body must be enhanced from all angles and that is what Monique Morin label offers.” The designer acquired this sensibility from her “successful career as a designer and corporate executive for global lingerie brands like La Senza.”
Asked about her target customer, Morin replied, “I don’t like labeling people. The collections might appeal more to certain demographics but there is no intention to specifically target customers. What defines the collections is my signature as a designer. I am known for using ultra feminine materials with high quality that I combine with bold and sharp silhouettes. Few people have described my work as “Luxury with urban edge.”
The collection offers styles from “XS to XXL and bra sizes bands 32 to 38 with cups A to DD. The plan is to extend the size range as the demand grows. I make sure to adjust the product components width as it goes up in size in order to best suit the body proportions and to offer support. This is also a key Monique Morin differentiator. I think it is very important not to only offer larger sizes but to offer larger sizes that are flattering to the wearer’s body and to the eye.”
On her website the designer noted she “grew up in the French side of Canada and has traveled the world extensively to fuel her creativity. She chose New York City as the home for her label where the women, architectural flow and high energy inspire her collections.”
