(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). The largest consumer electronics show in the world, CES 2021, has canceled its physical show that had been scheduled to run January 6-9, 2021, in Las Vegas.
This major show cancelation comes as exhibitors and attendees from all industries question the feasibility of physicial trade shows in the early months of 2021.
Las year’s CES drew about 170,000 attendees and 4,400 exhibiting companies. The Consumer Technology Association explained that “with the growing global health concerns about the spread of COVID-19, it is not possible to safely convene tens of thousands of people in Las Vegas in early January 2021 to meet and do business in person.” It added that in place of the physical show, an “all-digital CES 2021 will allow the entire tech community to safely share ideas and introduce the products that will shape our future.”
