(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). A key determining factor for a retailer contemplating the addition of a new bra to their store is the experience other stores have had with that brand.
And Shapeez — the bra collection that provides full support, slimming and shaping, as well as eliminating the look of bulges and back fat — has a great reputation among store owners across North America.
“I personally LOVE this product,” Joyce Van Beek of Kel-Brits Dress Shoppe in Rock Valley, Iowa told BODY. I wear them all the time and I have many customers that do too. It’s like wearing a sports bra with a good cup.”
“I like working with the company. I really haven’t had any problems with them. I carry on hand the Shortee in both nude and black, The Ultimate in nude and black,” she continued. “I have some samples of some of the other products but the bulk of my business is from the two I have listed. I also do special order Tankees pretty regularly in the summer as well.”
Judy Blair of Blair’s Landing in Osage Beach, Missouri concurred. “The girls at Shapeez are great to work with. We call with our reorders and get them quickly. They also are familiar with the product and make helpful suggestions.”
“If you can get the Tankees (which is the product we sell) on your customer, they almost always buy it. It’s a supportive underwire bra that lifts the chest and smooths the midriff without feeling tight. The product also helps us sell dresses and other form fitting garments. If they come out of the dressing room in one of our garments and it’s a little lumpy, we just ask their size, hand them one [Tankee] to try on under and we usually sell both. We love Shapeez.”
Victoria Shankle at Riley Blue in Amarillo, Texas reported: “We’ve carried Shapeez for more than 10 years — maybe even 15 — and I can honestly say it’s one of our most important products. We’ve sold many, many tops that we wouldn’t have sold otherwise, because of the way Shapeez smooths out the back and helps conceal a “muffin top.” The company’s before-and-after pictures are accurate.”
Shankle continued, “the company’s customer service has always been great and their shipping time has improved remarkably in the last couple of years so that reorders arrive promptly instead of taking several weeks as they used to. This is one product we all wear personally, and it’s a rare customer who doesn’t purchase it once tried on. Many wear it right out of the store.”
“Most of our clients fall into the over-40 category. Shapeez is a sure winner for any store with a slightly older (or even much older) clientele”
Kyleen Stevenson-Braxton at Fashion Crossroads in Casper, Wyoming told BODY, “the bra is comfortable to wear. In fact, it is easy to forget you have it on. I also appreciate that it does not roll up and therefore requires little re-adjusting throughout the day. It makes a noticeable difference in smoothing out the body, especially fat rolls, and makes our customers feel more confident in their clothing. Taken care of well, these bras will hold their shaping ability for multiple years. But it is important to be able to try them on to ensure a good fit since you have to fit both the tank and the cup.”
The retailer added, “Shapeez offers a good product, and is responsive to re-orders. They always seem to have the products in stock too, which I appreciate.”
The Shapeez brand launched in 2005 when designer and co-owner Staci Berner created The Ultimate, the first bra in a collection that now includes 13 bra styles.
