(Filed Under wholesale Activewear News). The exact location of seven of the new Aerie lingerie and two Offline activewear stores, that will open in the second half of the year, was revealed in an announcement by Westfield Shopping Centers.
Earlier this month, parent company American Eagle Outfitters said it plans to open a total of 50 new Aerie and 30 new Offline shops in the U.S. this year.
According to Westfield, the “new Aerie stores will open in Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey; Westfield Montgomery in Bethesda, Maryland; Westfield Old Orchard in Skokie, Illinois: Westfield Plaza Bonita in National City, California; Westfield Southcenter in Seattle, Washington; Westfield South Shore in Bay Shore, New York; and Westfield Valley Fair in San Jose, California. The locations at Garden State Plaza and Montgomery will also feature adjacent storefronts featuring Offline by Aerie.” The shopping center group is part of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, a developer and operator of shopping centers, the majority of which are in Europe.
“At AEO Inc., stores are a powerful tool for our omni-channel business and continue to be important for our brands,” explained Andrew McLean, AEO’s chief commercial officer. “Our approach to store openings is based on a deep understanding of customer and market potential. Future expansion in the Westfield Portfolio is based on achieving that potential and our core belief in engaging and serving new customers for both Aerie and the Offline by Aerie sub-brand.” — NM
