(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). According to Elise Raphalen, designer and owner of French lingerie brand Elise Aucouturier, she was inspired by Edgar Degas ballerina paintings and other 19th century "romantic" art in designing her fall 2009 collection.
Entitled Ballerin Tchin, the collection runs in sizes XS to XL in the wholesale price range of $75 to $81. Silhouettes include soft bras, panties, camisoles and chemises in the shades chocolate, caramel, black and a green shade entitled lichen.
Currently available for shipment, the collection will hit stores in July including Franck Et Fils in Paris, Appartment C in London, Cloche in Japan and Calypso Saint Barth boutiques, which are located in cities including New York City, Chicago, Boston, Paris and Los Angeles.
Founded in April 2001, Elise Aucouturier currently carries five lines; each with approximately five styles, and employs a staff of four. According to Raphalen, since inception they have experienced an average sales growth of 25 percent per year.
Raphalean said that the brand’s "unique style" sets them apart from competitors, adding that typical customers range in size from S through L, and run the full gamut of ages: from 18 to 70.
"There is no age really," Rapalean said. She added that they are popular among consumers seeking high-end lingerie because: "We are very careful about the quality of our fabrics and manufacturing."
Elise Aucouturier is based in Rully, France. For further information, e-mail Elise Raphalen: Elise.Aucouturier@Orange.Fr.
