(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). For the year 2022, Van de Velde reported a 14.9% increase in profit to 36.8 million euros (about $39.5 million at current exchange rates), as sales rose 8.4% to 211.7 million euros (about $227 million).

In 2021 the company earned 32.0 million euros on sales of 195.3 million euros. The Belgium-based company owns the Marie Jo, PrimaDonna and Andres Sarda wholesale brands, as well as international retail chains including the Rigby & Peller (formerly Intimacy) stores in the U.S.

Van de Velde explained that “in the B2B segment, the comparable turnover grows by 10.1% to 168.2 million euros, and in the D2C segment by 12.2% to 43.2 million euros. In both segments, the following trends can be observed: in the first half of the year, there was a strong sales growth driven by the return of customers to physical stores; swim sales recovered after two years of travel restrictions; in the second half of the year, the turnover was in line with last year; sales were supported by an optichannel customer experience based on a 360° marketing activation throughout different channels and countries.”

The company also noted that “the conflict between Ukraine and Russia has no direct influence on Van de Velde’s operations. We don’t purchase raw materials from suppliers in this region, and our commercial activities in this region are very limited.”

Currently the company operates three Rigby & Peller stores in the U.S., located in New York, Atlanta and Chicago. — NM
