Apparel Firms File Party City Bankruptcy Claims


(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Party City and some affiliated companies filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, announcing a restructuring plan that will reduce its debt.

The bankruptcy affected a broad range of companies, from bankers to helium wholesalers, but several producers of lingerie, costumes and apparel were also included on the list of creditors. A sampling of those firms filing claims included Almar Sales Company, which produces costumes among other products, and filed four separate claims in the following amounts: $270,396; $386,509; $2,723; and $386,509. Bowe Industries, which produces t-shirts under the Changes name, filed two claims for $31,741.50 each. Cinema Secrets, a costume maker, filed a claim for $29,721.60. Costume Agent, Inc. filed a claim for $13,764.00. Disguise Limited, which produces costumes, filed a claim for $263,090.28. Disney Consumer Products filed two claims, one for $1,122,380.00, the other for $9,507,684.00. Jerry Leigh of California, an apparel maker, filed a claim for $379,705.23. Lovin’ Enterprises filed a claim for $66,855.44. Marvel Brands filed two claims, one for $460,883.00, the other for $3,465,406.00. Opposuits B.V., a producer of Christmas costumes, filed a claim for $29,473.61. Philcos Enterpriser, an apparel maker, filed a claim for $309,016.75. — NM
