Lolita Launches Swim Collection

(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). Breaking into the swimwear market in 2008, Southern California-based Lolita-Girl Clothing Company has now expanded its product offering to include nine new bathing suit designs as part of its Poolside collection.

“Our silhouettes are all reminiscent of the 1940’s and 50’s one piece bathing suits except that we’ve updated them by making them two separate pieces and by adding our Lolita-Girl spin,” explained Maureen Fokos, co-founder and head designer of the company.

Made of four-way stretch/lycra spandex, tricot and poly/spandex tricot blends, the collection features prints such as playful polka dots and leopard prints, which are “design features that we are known for,” said Fokos. In addition, solid colors are also available.

The collection wholesales at a range of $42 to $49 for boutiques and specialty shops; larger orders that are produced overseas are heavily discounted. Retail price points, also for specifically boutiques and specialty shops, range between $84.95 and $125.

Lolita-Girl’s products, which also include pin-up inspired lingerie and dresses, are currently available at over 400 retailers spanning from swimwear boutiques to resort spas to online retailers who cater to girls and women aged 15 to 40.

Current retailers carrying the brand include Bad Attitude Boutique in Nevada, The Wicked Chamber in California and Temptress in San Diego. “BabyGirlBoutique.com in Portland and Unique-Vintage.com in Los Angeles would be our two main online retailers here in the states,” said Fokos. “Our goal now is getting our lines into larger retail venues that have expressed interest in our product, and possibly doing some private label deals.”

In additional news, the company is currently in the process of centralizing its production, warehouse and design studios by moving into a new facility in Laguna Hills, California. “Our move is scheduled for later this summer,” said Fokos. “It will take some planning to get everything shifted over, so we plan on moving one facility at a time.

Lolita-Girl clothing Company was co-founded in 1999 as a pin-up inspired lingerie and dresses manufacturer by head designer Maureen Forkos and Steve Williams. Contact Maureen via phone at (949) 249-9839 ext. 2 or via e-mail at Sales@LolitaGirlClothing.com.
