(Filed Under wholesale Basics News). On May 5th, Gap Inc. announced that it has hired back former employee Julie Rosen as senior vice president of merchandising for the Banana Republic brand. She will begin her employment on May 26th.
Rosen’s job responsibilities will include leading all product merchandising for the brand, as well as managing licensing relationships with third party vendors. She will report to the president of Banana Republic, Jack Calhoun.
Rosen formally worked for Gap Inc. from 1991 to 2006, and, according to the company, “was part of the team that successfully repositioned the brand as an ‘affordable luxury shopping destination.’” She held a variety of merchandising positions for the Banana Republic and Gap brands, finally as head of merchandising for Gap.
After leaving the company in 2006, Rosen was a strategic consultant for retail apparel brands including Theory, Nike and Chrome Hearts.
Gap Inc. operates more than 3,100 stores nationwide and in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Japan under the Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime and Athleta brand names.
