Liz Claiborne, Inc. has named former president of Esprit, Thomas Grote, as the new CEO of Mexx Worldwide.

Grote will claim his position beginning October 1st of this year and will report directly to William McComb, CEO of the company. Until Grote takes his position, the current Mexx management team will continue to run the business.

Grote will resign from his position as Esprit’s brand president, effective June 1st.

The company also announced Tom Fitzgerald, interim CEO at Mexx and SVO of direct brand services, will join Lucky Brand Jeans as CEO, effective July 1st.

Fitzgerald will partner with Liz Munoz, president of Lucky Brand Jeans, and Gene Montesano and Barry Perlman, co-founders, to “drive growth initiatives for the brand.”
