Hochman & Bloomie's Host Event

(Filed Under Fashion News). In tough times, partnerships between retailers and manufacturers may be the best way to keep customers coming back. A recent example of this is an event held Thursday May 7th at Bloomingdale's on 59th Street in New York City.

From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, shoppers flocked to Bloomingdale's for a Mother's Day shopping event hosted by intimate apparel giant Carole Hochman Design Group.

The event featured the company's newest branded sleep and lounge line, Midnight, as well as its Premium Luxury Knits line.

Carole Hochman, founder, chairman and chief creative director of the company, and other company staff members helped Bloomie's customers find "the perfect gifts for mom" from the Midnight line. Shoppers were also treated to a free striped terry robe with purchase.

Elizabeth Hospodar, OVP and DMM of intimate apparel at Bloomingdale's, said the customer response to the event was positive. "Carole Hochman's intimates line has received an excellent response from the Bloomingdale's customer, specifically, Midnight by Carol was an extremely popular gift for Mother's Day," said Hospodar. "[Overall], events generate excitement and give the customer a reason to come to the store. They also allow the customer the special experience of meeting the designer."

Hochman also enjoyed her in-store appearance. "[It] was a great event and a fun way to personally connect with customers and show them all my newest designs just before Mother's Day!" she said. "Bloomingdale's was the perfect venue to show both sides of my brand, with Carole Hochman Premium Luxury Knits alongside Midnight, my newest collection of sleep and lounge. It is such a pleasure to spend time with customers, to connect with them and to hear their feedback. I love to be able to give additional insight to help our customers fully appreciate our price-value relationship. Both lines offer unmatched quality, lovely styling and are comfortable and easy to wash."
