(Filed Under wholesale Plus Size News). Plus-size multi-brand apparel company Charming Shoppes has chosen Fry, Inc. as its e-commerce partner. Fry Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MICROS Systems, Inc., is an e-commerce solutions provider.
Starting in fall 2009, Fry’s project with Charming Shoppes will include strategic planning, creative and user experience design, multi-site e-commerce platform development, an integrated order management and call center application, and site hosting for Charming Shoppes’ Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug and Catherines Plus Sizes brands.
Fry will build the brand sites using its Open Commerce Platform, which is a multi-site e-commerce solution that includes an order management system and call center application “designed to bridge seamlessly the gap between Charming Shoppes’ stores and online channels.” Fry also plans to support integration with Charming Shoppes’ POS system, allowing store associates to reference, order and ship online products not available in stores.
"We are thrilled to partner with Charming Shoppes. The complete end-to-end multichannel solution will assist each brand in reaching its fullest growth potential and building a community with its customers," David Fry, president of Fry, said in a statement.
As of January 31, 2009, Charming Shoppes Inc. operated 2,301 retail stores in 48 states under the Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug, Fashion Bug Plus, Catherines Plus Sizes, Lane Bryant Outlet and Petite Sophisticate Outlet names. Additionally, the retailer operates the LaneBryant.com, FashionBug.com and Catherines.com e-commerce sites.
