Nilit Reports Spring/Summer Trends

(Filed Under Textiles News). A mood that varies from luxurious to romantic and from ultra-glamorous to street-inspired represents Nilit’s spring/summer 2010 trends for intimate apparel and activewear, which was released in the seasons’ trendbook.

For lingerie, Nilit reported three trend categories: Natural Impulse, Body Language and Technically Speaking. Each category features four sub-categories.

Natural Impulse’s inspiration is derived from values of wellbeing and healthy leaving. Nilit demonstrates this through the use of its Aquarius yarns, which have the technical properties of moisture management. The grouping also looks to “old-time” lingerie innocence, featuring freshness and simplicity with the use of matte jersey, broderie anglaise and cotton-line voile.

Looks that are rustic in feeling, but modern in interpretation are prevalent within this grouping, as well as vintage-inspired traditional knits, bright botanical florals and subtle leisure shapes with a cottony handle, which is achieved through knitting Nilit Arafelle yarn together with Microsilk Semi-Dull yarn.

Body Language is strongly inspired by screen heroines and pin-ups of the 1950s, and presents this through the use of seductive fabrics like satin, silk and gossamer knits. This grouping features a classic palette of ivory, white and black contrasted with pops of fiery red. This grouping blurs the line between lingerie and beachwear demonstrated through a two-tone effect created from Nilit Microsilk Full-Dull yarns knitted with spandex covered with Nilit Pastelle.

Technically Speaking focuses on bold structural shapes that are inspired by the elements of air, water and sky which have been combined with modern architectural structures. The trend is expressed in body-hugging shapes and Nilit reports a mix-and-match of handles and textures dominate this trend, which features variegated transparent stripes seamlessly intersecting with bold construction lines.
