(Filed Under wholesale Plus Size News). Biatta Intimates first launched into the plus size world with its B-Plus collection this spring, and according to Robyn Peniasian, sales associate and office manager at the company, the collection has launched with great success.
Peniasian attributes the collection’s success in part to the products’ accurate fit. “I’m really excited by the response we have received with our plus size collection. Finally, now I can wear Biatta bras!” she said. “I am a 40DD and also the fit model for Biatta plus bras and babydolls, so I’m confident that I know what the plus size customer is looking for when it comes to comfort, style price, etc.”
Retailer Fascinations carried the spring 2009 plus collection, and will receive the fall collection by June. “The majority of everything we’ve done with them has sold really well,” said Josh Porter, director of purchasing at the company. “We sell a ton of their panties, just ridiculous quantities – thousands and thousands [in] all sizes.”
Porter says the plus size category has been growing at Fascinations stores and he believes this is due in part to better-fitting product designs. “I don’t think a lot of the manufacturers really went after the fit properly, and in recent periods it’s been a much different attack,” he said. “They seem to be going out and getting fit models and working toward the right direction.”
Biatta topped its spring plus line, which featured two ranges, by launching three ranges for the fall. Silhouettes include bras (molded, plunge and ruffled), hipsters, thongs, babydolls and cheekies and wholesale between $3 and $14.
Tops are available in sizes 38C to 40DD and bottoms range from 1X to 3X.
