(Filed Under Fashion News). On Thursday, May 14th, fans of Wacoal flocked to Lord & Taylor at Fifth Avenue and 39th street for a Fi(gh)t For The Cure fundraiser.
As with all of Wacoal's Fi(gh)t For The Cure events, all of which benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation, Wacoal's bra fitters outfitted women in Wacoal and B.Tempt'd bras. For every women who was fitted, $2 was donated to Susan G. Komen, and for every women who purchased a Wacoal or B.Tempt'd bra at the event, Wacoal donated an additional $2. Now in it's ninth year, the Fi(gh)t For The Cure campaign has donated over $2 million to Susan G. Komen.
Like other major department stores including Macy's and Bloomingdale's, Lord & Taylor is happy to team up with Wacoal for Fi(gh)t For the Cure.
"Lord & Taylor runs Wacoal's Fit for the Cure events to increase awareness and funding for breast cancer research in communities where our stores are located," Marybeth Sheridan, SVP/GM of intimate apparel, menswear and children's wear for Lord & Taylor, commented.
"In addition to being a great way to get women into the stores, Fi(gh)t For The Cure is great business generator for us, the shops and Susan G. Komen," Liz Smith, Wacoal's director of retail services, said. "More importantly, it helps us educate women about breast cancer and breast health. It's a win-win situation for everyone."
