(Filed Under Fashion News). On Monday, May 18th, Woody Allen reportedly agreed to a $5 million settlement in his lawsuit against American Apparel. American Apparel’s insurance agency will pay the settlement.
Both sides reportedly agreed to settlement on the date that a trial was set to begin in New York City.
Allen sued American Apparel last year for $10 million after the company launched an advertising campaign in New York and Los Angeles using a photo of Allen from “Annie Hall” depicted as a rabbi, without asking for Allen’s permission.
Dov Charney, president of American Apparel, has reportedly stated that he did not want to settle, and that it was the decision of the company’s insurance company.
