(Filed Under wholesale Activewear News). Hard Tail Forever is adding Lycra Supplex to its designs in its first foray into performance-oriented products. The activewear company will use the fabric in two new bra tanks, a jacket, a skirt and four legging styles.
The merchandise will hit Hard Tail’s flagship store in Santa Monica, California, Bloomingdale’s, and select specialty boutiques and yoga studios nationwide this August. Retail prices will range from $60 to $100, a slight increase from Hard Tail’s typical Cotton/Lycra pieces. Hard Tail styles generally run in sizes XS through L.
The Lycra Supplex fabric includes moisture-wicking, antibacterial and quick drying qualities, as well as the four-way stretch found in Hard Tail’s preexisting activewear fabrics. Suwon Weaver, Hard Tail’s designer, chose to offer Lycra Supplex styles in black only because “black Lycra replaces white Lycra on the under-layer of the fabric, which alleviates the typical shiny ‘white’ effect.” She added about the fabric:
“Because Supplex Lycra is a lightweight, highly elastic fabric, it offers excellent stretch and recovery properties. It’s slightly heavier than our traditional Cotton/Lycra fabrics, but feels really light when working out or practicing yoga.”
Urban Minx, an e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retailer with locations throughout Oregon, carries several Hard Tail items. Although Shayna Marie of Urban Minx is not sure whether the store will add the new products in August, she commented: “We always like to stay current to what [Hard Tail] is offering.”
“I work strictly on the website, and we get a lot of reorders [for Hard Tail],” she added. “This season, their yoga pants and capris have been very popular. They’ve also got some really cute colors, like lime green, that sell very well.”
Based in Santa Monica, California, Hard Tail Forever’s activewear and other apparel products are made in the United States. For more, call the company at (310) 399-5511.
