Mike Russina Talks Men's Trends

(Filed Under wholesale Men's Underwear News). Mike Russina, co-owner of e-tailer, has seen a new trend evolve in his business, citing that customers have shifted their focus to more accessibly-priced products, as well as designs that leave little to the imagination.

"I believe that the people who go after the high end designer brands are shifting more toward the accessible brand," said Russina. "For instance, if you were buying into D&G or Dirty English, those types of customers are shifting more toward the Calvin Klein and 2(x)ist market."

On Russina's website, D&G underwear ranges between $30 and $60, and Dirty English by Juicy Couture underwear retails at a range of $22 to $29. Selling at a lesser price, Calvin Klein underwear ranges between $16 and $26, and 2(x)ist retails between $12 and $22.

Currently, CK's body hip brief in black ($16), and the body stretch no-show brief also in black ($18), are the two top-selling styles for the brand at the store. As for 2(x)ist, the contrast no show brief in black-and-white ($12) and the contrast contour pouch brief in black-and-white ($12), are the top-selling styles.

"We are also starting to see a big upswing with designers like Joe Snyder and Male Power, which offers revealing fabrics and designs," said Russina. Male Power underwear retails between $9 and $23 on the site, and Joe Snyder retails at a range of $20.50 to $26.

Currently, Male Power's wonder thong ($13) and the rib cotton bikini in black ($9) are the top-selling styles for the brand at the store. Joe Snyder's shinning running short in black ($22.50) and the same style in yellow ($22.50) are the most popular with customers.

In total, the retailer offers 26 men's underwear brands, and Russina continues to add more. For the fall, he will add the Timoteo and Rufskin brands. "Rufskin is my number one and Timoteo is my number two," said Russina of which brands he is most excited to add. "They're both emerging brands that are very fashion forward. They're brands I believe will catch on much like AussieBum did out of Australia."
