(Filed Under Licensing News). Iconix Brand Group has been given Wal-Mart’s “Big Bet” award at its annual Apparel Summit for the successful launch of the company’s Op brand, and the re-launch of its Starter and Danskin Now brands.

“We are honored to receive the ‘Big Bet’ award,” said Neil Cole, chairman and CEO of Iconix. “Wal-Mart is a terrific partner and we look forward to continuing our successful relationship with the Wal-Mart team. Receiving the ‘Big Bet’ award from the world’s largest retailer is a wonderful accolade and a testament to the collaborative nature between the product, brand management and marketing teams of the two companies.”

Op, Starter and Danskin Now have direct-to-retail licenses in place with Wal-Mart and are available nationwide, and have also entered into Wal-Mart international stores, including Canada and Mexico.
