(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Chaps intimate apparel by the Carole Hochman Design Group is currently hitting Kohl’s stores nationwide. The apparel runs in a retail price range of $11 to $38. For the past two years, Kohl’s has been the exclusive supplier of Chaps sleepwear, which according to Jeff Clair, vice president of new business development at the Carole Hochman Design Group, has been “extremely successful” at the department store.
“For us, [adding Chaps intimates] is just a natural expansion,” Clair commented. “We understand the Chaps customer very well, and we understand Kohl’s classic customer.”
According to Clair, Chaps customers have a styling preference that is classic and traditional, but with a modern interpretation. The primary customer base consists of women from their mid-20s through 50s. The new intimates come in bra sizes 34 to 38, B through D, and bottoms in sizes S through XL. He believes that the intimates will be very popular, especially in light of the recession, because they offer a tremendous value.
“What is most exciting about this launch is we are really delivering into Kohl’s designer foundations at very reasonable price points. Customers do not want to give up the fit and quality they are used to from better brands they have purchased in the past, so I think that they will be very excited about this product,” Clair said.
The initial launch features 14 styles including wire-free, full contour, demi, and push-up bras, bikinis, hipsters, camis and tops in basic shades of black, white and moonlight, as well as more colorful tones including deco pink, hyacinth and “a beautiful” ice-pink for the summer season, reported Clair. Additionally, Carole Hochman has worked closely with the team at Polo to coordinate with Chaps Sportswear coloring. One example of this is a contour bra with a two-tone check that emulates some sportswear pieces already carried at Kohl’s.
Clair described styles as ranging from the basic seamless microfiber T-shirt bra to fancy Chantilly lace pieces.
