(Filed Under wholesale Loungewear News). Spreegirl recently introduced four new loungewear collections for spring made from a 95 percent bamboo material.
The collections are dubbed B Natural, Spice It Up, Pipeline and New Rave and run in sizes S through L. The 26 total bamboo styles include robes, cropped pants, camis, chemises, lounge shorts, rompers, tanks, panties, boyshorts and soft bras in vivid and pastel shades including bright yellow, pale pink and light blue. Wholesale prices range from $5 to $16, slightly higher than Spreegirl’s non-bamboo merchandise, but Vinh Luong, director of sales and marketing for parent company Carrie Amber Intimates, said that going green is “worth it.”
“Bamboo requires no fertilizers, pesticides or chemicals to grow, making it a great eco-friendly choice,” she said. “It’s also just incredibly soft. The fresh, hip designs of [the new collections] make them favorites of celebrities, editors and customers alike.”
She added that celebrities seen wearing Spreegirl include Mylie Cyrus and the stars of hit MTV reality series “The Hills.” While the Seven ‘til Midnight brand, also produced by Carrie Amber Intimates, boasts sexy styles like garters and teddies, Luong described Spree Girl as “sexy in a different, [more subdued] way,” with loungewear, bras and panties geared toward the young, contemporary market.
“Spree Girl is a bit more youthful and fashion forward, with more of a boutiquey feel than Seven ‘til Midnight,” Schmitz explained.
In addition to E-tailers BlueFly.com, Asos.com and RevolveClothing.com, Spree Girl can be found at boutiques nationwide including Lf Stores, Hillary Rush in Beverly Hills, California; and Persian Peecock in Logan, Utah.
According to Luong, the brand is adding more bamboo pieces to its line-up for the upcoming Fall season. Spreegirl also currently carries 13 styles made from an eco-friendly Modal blend.
Other plans for the brand include expansion into the international market with a particular focus on Asia and Europe.
Spree Girl is based in El Monte, California. Reach the company at (626) 371-1980.
