(Filed Under wholesale Basics News). Oklahoma-based Zinke Design, which first delved into the intimate apparel market this January, has introduced its second lingerie collection for spring 2010.
Running at a wholesale price range of $25 to $60, the collection includes 13 new looks and five new pieces running in sizes S through L, like a bralette and boyshort set made from 100 percent silk. Other styles consist of several silk-blend rompers embellished with gold buttons and cuffs, a printed, silk chiffon babydoll with a block, “Boho Chic-inspired print,” according to co-owner Arin Robinson, who described it as the company’s favorite new style. She described colors throughout as “rich, vibrant and electric” fuschia, bright peach, cobalt blue, red and a “mauvey” pink. Robinson believes that the “young, fun, and a touch bohemian” line will appeal to everyone from teenagers to women in their 30s.
Although some of the styles from Zinke’s previous collection were manufactured in China, this collection is all being produced in California. Robinson said this delayed its launch a bit since the company’s staff of three—which includes Robinson and her sister and business partner, Jessie Zinke—was busy searching for U.S manufacturers.
“It was extremely important to us to keep the manufacturing in the United States,” Robinson explained.
Robinson and Zinke founded Zinke Designs as a bridal gift and event company in 2004. Through attending lingerie tradeshows, the two decided they wanted to make the move into lingerie. “Once we started working on the designs, we knew that [lingerie] was what we wanted to do,” Robinson said. The brand is currently sold in specialty boutiques nationwide including Derriere De Soie in Charlottesville, Va., Muse Intimates in Tulsa, Okla. and Bonne Nuit in Walnut Creek, Calif. The company is currently working on expanding into larger department stores.
In addition to lingerie, Zinke also makes eye masks in six different colors and white and pebble-shaded slippers, both made from silk. Robinson reported that the slippers have been “very popular” on the market.
