Frederick’s of Hollywood Group, Inc. has appointed Barbara Bakalic as the new vice president of product development for the company’s wholesale division, holding the responsibilities of “developing and offering a wide array of fashionable intimate apparel choices to mass retailers through brand focus, trend identification and seasonal product line development,” said the company.
Bakalic boasts over 20 years of product development, merchandising and sales experience and has served as Walmart’s corporate brand manager and then product development manager, where she was responsible for intimate apparel and sleepwear development, as well as junior development.
“[Barbara’s] extensive product development, merchandising and sales experience and proven success in the intimate apparel industry, specifically the mass market, will be a great asset to us,” said Thomas Lynch, the company’s chairman and CEO. “Barbara has a strong creative vision, and we are looking forward to the impact her leadership and demonstrated ability will have on our wholesale business.”
In January 2008, wholesaler Movie Star, Inc. and retailer Frederick’s of Hollywood merged to form Frederick’s of Hollywood Group, Inc. Through the company’s wholesale division, they design, manufacture, source, distribute and sell women’s intimates, sleepwear, robes, loungewear and daywear to mass merchandisers, specialty and department stores, discount retailers, national and regional chains and direct mail catalog marketers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
