(Filed Under Fashion News). Due to the distress of the current economy, Body Look - The International Trade Fair for Body, Beach and Legwear, will now be held annually as opposed to semi-annually, starting with summer 2009.
The trade fair, which was scheduled to be held in February 2009, will now be held from July 26th through the 28th in Düsseldorf, Germany. It will be the "first event in Europe for the new order season in the body wear and swimwear industry," said the company.
The decision to postpone the trade fair was made in consultation with the advisory board of Body Look, which consists of representatives from the exhibitor, buyer and association sector.
Igedo Company, the organizer of Body Look, is remaining hopeful about the show in July and many market leaders have already announced their participation at this early stage. Some of these include: Maryan Mehlhorn; Felina; Eva B. Bitzer with Fürstenberg; Bruno Banani; Rösch with Rösch CreativeCulture; Féraud Paris; Daniel Hechter and Blanche Fleur; Premium Bodywear with Olaf Benz and Manstore as well as Calvin Klein; Simone Pérèle; Susa, Bad Hersfelder Dessous with Gattina; Chantal Thomass; Kenzo; Galliano; Christian Lacroix; Riedl and Glumann.
"Despite the emotional 'turnaround,' Body Look managed to achieve with its event in July 2008, we have decided not to hold Body in February. To us, the number of registered exhibitors would not have been sufficient to guarantee a representative and, therefore, successful show," said Kirsten Deutelmoser, project director of Body Look. "We will now use the time until July 2009 intensely to adapt the trade fair concept to the new market demands. We and especially the entire industry continue to place our trust in the destination Düsseldorf. Together with our exhibitors we will develop many ideas over the next few months to strengthen Body Look even in times of economic unrest."
Igedo Company states its common objective is "to provide an optimal network that connects exhibitors and visitors to create added value for all participants."
