(Filed Under wholesale Hosiery News). Sources have confirmed Asheboro, North Carolina-based legwear company Acme-McCrary has purchased Shogren Manufacturing Hosiery, Co., appointing Mike Glanville, former SVP of sales at Shogren, to head the division at Acme.
Sources say, through the agreement, Acme acquired Shogren’s Walmart, JCPenney and Target tights business, further confirming its position as the largest private label producer of women’s legwear in the U.S.
Tony Shogren, formerly owner of the Shogren Manufacturing Hosiery Co., will no longer be involved with the legwear business. "No after 40 years--I'm gone!," he said in an e-mail.
At this time, Glanville could not be reached for comment. Check back with BODY in the near future for further details.
