Spanish manufacturer and retailer Inditex reported an 8 percent net sales increase during the first quarter of 2009 compared with last year’s first quarter, and a same store sales increase of 9 percent. Net sales totaled at 2,338 million euros, equivalent to $3,234.43 million at the current exchange rate.
During the quarter, the company opened 95 new stores bringing it’s total store count to 4,359 in 73 countries.
Inditex operates the Oysho intimates brand, as well as the Zara, Pull & Bear, Massimi Dutti, and Bershka brands, among others.
