(Filed Under Fashion News). Lingerie Americas Trade Show, launched in New York in August 2002 by Promincor to showcase U.S. display of brands in intimate apparel and swimwear, has announced it has stopped activity.

Starting in 2007, the trade show added activity in Las Vegas with two sessions a year. Prior to that, the trade show had two sessions a year in New York.

As a result, CurvExpo in partnership with Eurovet is now the only trade show representing the designer lingerie, men's underwear and swimwear industries in the U.S.

"We always believed that lingerie is a niche market and there is room only for one show in North America, and we are very happy that the one show remaining is Curve," said Laurence Teinturier, co-creator of CurvExpo and former manager of Lingerie Americas. "I know why we've won. Because we are close to our exhibitors and partners and we are business developers. I think that we know the market, both the brands and the retail side, and that's the key. As business developers we understand what the partners and exhibitors are offering and what their customer target is and [we know] how to promote that to the right retailer. We are marketing people and we consider ourselves as the sales force of our exhibitors."
