(Filed Under wholesale Sleepwear News). New York-based sleep and loungewear wholesaler Maria Scotto debuted holiday pieces, a new lavender shade, and crinkle cotton styles at this month’s CurveNY. The brands’ merchandise wholesales for $30 to $65 and runs in sizes P through XL. Currently, it includes approximately 45 total pieces.
Maria Scotto, president of the company, reported that holiday styles include nightgowns, robes and bed jackets in a shade of black, which she said is coming back. “Two years ago I could not give it away, but now suddenly, black is in,” she commented. Styles include PJ sets embellished with white lace and ivory ruffles.
Pieces in lavender will include nightgowns, robes and bed jackets, and the new crinkle cotton fabrication includes four nightgown styles. Scotto said, “The styles are loose, cool and do not wrinkle [unlike the majority of cotton apparel]."
Scotto described the brand’s typical customer as “upscale [and] interested in high-quality.” Ages range from 25 to 70, and she says this largely depends on color, with black and vibrant-colored styles most popular among younger women. She described the Maria Scotto brand as “Basic cuts with feminine details like lace, appliqués and trims.” Retailers carrying the brand include Peress in New York City and Abrielle in Washington D.C.
