(Filed Under Textiles News). Through an asset acquisition, Chanty Lace, a German-based manufacturer of lace for the intimate apparel industry, has acquired the rights to 40-year-old rigid lace and elastic manufacturer, Corvett Spitzen, also based in Germany. Through the agreement, all of Corvett Spitzen’s designs and patterns, as well as its brand name, are the sole property of Chanty Lace.
Effective immediately, Chanty will run Corvett as a separate line and make new developments in the spirit of the Corvett range, the company reported. Matthias C. Hartmann, managing director of the company, commented: “Corvett Spitzen is a long-existing company with a well-known range. One of their specialties was Textronic/Supertronic laces and functional laces. The range also includes very successful classic designs.” He added that through the acquisition Chanty expects to broaden its scope and expand its customer base by offering a wider range to complement “its own creative and fashionable range of laces. Chanty received the creator of the year award in 2008 for their creative range.”
