Through a recently signed agreement with Maidenform Brands, Inc., Komar Company has been granted the exclusive right and license to manufacturer, market, sell and distribute women’s and children’s sleepwear, and women’s long underwear and swimwear under select Maidenform brand names to select retailers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The agreement is effective immediately, and the companies did not disclose its financial terms.
“We are very excited to work with Komar,” Maurice Reznik, chief executive officer of Maidenform, stated. “Our partnership will further establish Maidenform as a lifestyle brand and bring more brand exposure to both current and new customers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. These are natural line extensions for Maidenform, and will servce different consumer needs and market segments while increasing visibility at department stores, chains and mass markets.”
“As the Donna Karan and DKNY sleepwear licensee, we have come to know and respect Maidenform,” Charles Komar, president and chief executive office of Komar, said. “We are very excited to be partnering with Maurice and his team to expand the Maidenform family of brands into new categories.”
Maidenform is an 86-year-old global intimate apparel company whose brands include Maidenform; Flexees; Lilyette; Control It!; Sweet Nothings; Luleh; Rendezvous; Subtract; Bodymates; Self Expressions; and Inspiration. Komar is a 101-year-old apparel and consumer products company.
